Bonjour

Bonjour Sunday!  Today's card is in honor of my little pup.  First I'll tell you about the card, then on to my looong story about Liyah.  You  know when you purchase a Cricut cartridge because you love all the images then you get it home and wonder what you are going to do with them. Summer in Paris was one of those cartridges for me.  I love all those intricate images.  But what the heck do I do with them!  well Yay!  I figured out something to make.  Isn't this little poodle adorable?  She is cut out in gray and shadowed with black.  I created a bow for her tail using a Martha Stewart bow punch.  And of course she needed a pearl necklace.

I created the Bonjour banner using a Michael's $1 alphabet set and popped it up a bit in the middle for dimension.  The back ground layers are black, SU Regal Rose and SU Pretty in Pink.  Pretty in Pink was run through my Big Shot with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot folder.  I think she came out darling.  You?

Speaking of darling...look at this poor baby. This is my pup, Liyah, and she is not a very happy puppy. The story goes like this...Little Liyah needed her nails trimmed so we took a trip to Pet Smart.  It's only $9 and they keep her while you run to Michael's.  Sounds great, right?  Well, I did exactly that.  It took me less than 10 minutes and I was back to Pet Smart to pick her up.  When she was brought out to me, she was limping a bit.  Liyah is 10 years old and has some arthritis in her rear hips, so limping was not that unusual.  Except this time it was her front leg that she was favoring....fast forward.  Pet Smart has a vet service called Banfield right in their building.  So the deal was that they would check her out and if they find that she was hurt while in Pet Smarts care, Pet Smart would fit the bill...x-rays, blood work, pain meds, doctor...oh...I brought her to get her nails done at 10:30.  We finally saw the doctor at 5:00!!!  Crazy!  Even crazier is that she said that Liyah had a fracture of her toe and it was about a month old so Pet Smart was not at fault, that will be $460.   Nope, no way give me my dog back.  We finally got out of there at 6:30!!!  Eight hours at Pet Smart   ARGH!
The next day I brought her to our regular vet who said yes indeed her toe is fractured and it's brand new fracture (surprise!) We were out of there in less that 2 hours with pain meds, doc visit and a nice St. Paddy bandage all for the low price of $260 ~ which will be forwarded on to Pet Smart.  Thank you very much.  Anybody else out there have issues with Pet Smart?  Any suggestions on what I should do ... pain and suffering for the dog and me!
It's been 3 days and Liyah is still not feeling very well.  I think it's time for another pain pill.
For both of us.

  1. Poor Liyah! Get yourself a ped-a-paw and a handful of her favorite treats. My terrier will let me do each paw, then a treat, another paw, another treat. He doesn't love it, but he tolerates it. I find that the retail stores have very poorly trained staff that turns over quickly, you never see the same staff from visit to visit.

  2. Your poor pup! I, too, had an issue with Pet Smart when I took my Lab to be bathed and have his nails clipped. Nothing as severe as your dog, but he came home with a huge gash on his leg after being cut by scissors or clippers - I'm not sure which and neither should have been used since he was there for a bath and nail clipping only! I didn't notice it until I got home and he started licking his wound. I never called and complained, but swore I would never go back!!

  7. So sorry for your baby, when my is not feeling up to snuff I'm a little out of it too. It is bad enough they injured her but to out and out lie about it and want to charge you with a big vet bill was just a little to much. I would insist on apologies to the little girl and one to you for being so nasty and lying about it.
