Thinking of You Challenge

Thanks for stopping in.  I have a quick post for you prompted by a couple of challenges.  The first challenge was for me to find time to get back into paper crafting.  Yay, I'm back!  The 2nd challenge was issued by Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  I totally needed to make some Thinking of You cards and that was what the challenge was.  Yay me!
My first card was made using hand-made papers from New Delhi.  They are so rich with color and texture. I made the flower using an old Tim Holtz die with paper from a phone book.  Of course I added some color and glitter gems.  Beautiful!
My second card was made for a great friend who loves turquoise and green.  I think it's a sports team colors, but since I'm not into sports I couldn't tell you the team.  Sorry Char.
Again,
Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!

Pottery Totem

Two posts in one day.  Yup, my paper crafting mojo may have been gone for awhile, but my pottery making mojo is in full swing!  Check out this totem I made!
I made this!!
It stands about 3 feet tall and is gorgeous!!  I had a blast making it and now that I have seen it all put together I NEED to make some more!

Go Confidently

Here's a quick post just to let you know that yup, I'm still here!   I'm just having some paper crafting down town.  You here about that mojo stuff, it's true!  I lost mine somewhere.  Good thing I have loads of back up cards, since I was in need of a congratulations on purchasing your first home kinda card.  I thought this one was perfect, especially after I added all those yummy details!

Here's a close up.  Twine, a big rhinestone, little gems, pins and those funky doodads.  Cute!

Avoid Photo Overload. Namaste

You know how it is when you develop your pictures and you automatically think, Oh!  I have the scrapbook paper and embellishments that will match these perfectly!  That's how this layout came about.  I've loved working with the Hopscotch paper collection so much I ordered myself another pack before it was discontinued.  I'm so glad I did!  These yoga pictures were a perfect fit.
My story is that I 'taught' yoga to a huge group of residents in my previous community.  We called it "Yoga At Your Own Risk" What was risky about it ~ well I was never trained/certified as a Yoga Instructor and at times was just winging it.  But boy,  I had a following!  Sometimes we had almost 20 people at a time!  If you click on the picture you can read my journaling.  We had such a fun time!
When I started the layout, I knew I wanted to incorporate Flip Flaps.  From now on, I think  Flip Flaps will be in every layout I create.  Yup, they are that cool!  Are you wondering what the heck are Flip Flaps?  I put a notation on the picture above so you can see where I used them and here's a link to them on my Close to my Heart store.  They are so very helpful to avoid photo overload in your Scrapbook.  Instead of making page after page after page of the same event, you can use Flip Flaps to create more 'real estate' on your pages.  Check it out ~  Flip Flaps
That's it for tonight.
Namaste.

Color Blocked Typed Note

Happy April!  Spring is springing!  Outside my window I can hear a lawn mower, birds chirping and someone is getting a new roof.  I love having my windows open!
So today's post features the April Stamp of the Month called Typed Note.  This is such a versatile stamp set, just look at all those sentiments!

I created a couple cards and have many more swirling around in my head.  The background of both the cards reminds me of a color blocked dress my daughter had when she was young.

What do you think?  Aren't they adorable?   They are both already in the mail....I wonder who the lucky recipients are.  :-)
Thanks for stopping in and I hope you are able to enjoy this wonderful Spring day.
