Card in a Box Valentine

Geesh, the time has flown so quick.  My last post was before Christmas!  Honestly, I have been creating almost everyday but have been to lazy to do any posting.  Today changes that with this gorgeous card!

This is called a Card in a Box, folds up flat for mailing and can be totally, over the top, decorated.  I've put the directions at the bottom of the post so you can make your own :-)
For this lovey, I used my trusty Cricut to cut all the hearts and the quote Love you.  The paper is from Prima's 6 x 6 Divine Collection.  Love it!

Thank you for taking time out of your day to visit.  If you make your own Card in a Box, I'd love for you to share with a link in the comments.
Enjoy your day!
  • Take an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock and score on the long side (11” side) at 2.5”, 5”, 7.5” and 10”.Cut off a 2 x 11 strip and set it aside. This will be used later.
  • Turn the now 6.5 x 11 panel a quarter turn (so that the unscored short side is at the top of your score board) and score at 2.5”.
  • Cut down to the 2.5” score line along each of the 4 perpendicular score lines. At the 10” score line cut in at a slight angle from the edge of the cardstock to create a tab.
  • Cut the 2 x 11 strip at 4.5” from the end with the 1” score line. Cut the strip in half long ways to create two 1 x 4.5 strips for the inside of your box.
  • Decorate each panel.
Assemble box and finish decorating accordingly.

Oh boy it's getting so close to Christmas, only 2 more days!  Yikes.  This year has flown by so quickly.
Today I'm sharing an altered frame that started out in the Target clearance section.  Three bucks! and worth every penny!
I started with a beautiful sheet of 12 x 12 from My Mind's Eye, All Is Bright, paper pad then went to town with things from my 'stash'.
Isn't this the coolest embellishment ~ made with things collected over the years.  You know that stuff you need to purchase because you know you will use it someday.  Well looky what I made with it!
The joy letters were cut five times with my Cricut Jasmine cartridge.  I glued all the letters together to create them nice and thick. Then glitterized them using Martha Stewart fine glitter, then when that was dry, I used some Shaved Ice, from Stampendous, around the letters. I love this project!!  I hope you do to.

Christmas Card Marathon part deux

Another My Mind's Eye card using the collection from Lost & Found Christmas. Those adorable pennants come as a trim.  So cute!!

A close up of the pennants show that I popped them up off the card.  Nice added dimension.

Here's another card from the same paper collection.  I used the pennants as well as some gorgeous lace I had in my stash.

Here's a close up of the pennants and the lace.  I wove some beautiful ribbon through the lace and added a cute little bow.

I am having so much fun making all these cards.  I hope you are enjoying them as well.
See you tomorrow for more!

Christmas Card Marathon

Hello my fellow crafters.  Honest I am still crafting.  Every day!  But looking at my blog, it doesn't look that way.  So I thought I should post some of the Christmas Cards that I have been making.
I don't know what got into me this year, but I haven't made a single duplicate card.  arrggggh!
So here are a couple that have made it to the mail box.  I LOVE them both!  The first one is done using All is Bright from My Mind's Eye.  The second card is made using paper from Webster's Pages.  The sizes were fun to work with then to top it off, I made my own envelopes using the Envelope Punch Board from we R Memories.  That little tool is a must have.
That's it for today.
Thank you for stopping in.

May your days be Merry and Bright

Hello my crafty friends,
Did you know that Close to my Heart has a  whole TV channel?  Yup, they do and you can check that out right here! Great videos that share the creative process along with special tips and techniques too.   If you have a few moments, be sure to watch.
So, Have you started your Christmas Cards yet?  My ladies will be starting theirs next weekend when we start  round one of our Christmas Card Workshops.  Aren't these GORGEOUS!!  They use the Frosted Card Workshop on the Go from Close to my Heart, with just a bit of tweaking on my part.  But, what an awesome idea this is.  The kit comes with all the materials you need to create 15 beautiful Christmas cards. The stamp set,  the papers, the card stock, the envelopes, the twine, the glitter gems PLUS the instructions!! All for $24.95!
So are you ready for the Christmas season?  I'm sure not!  I'm on the side that does not participate with any Christmas decorating until December.  But, Christmas Cards are a different story.  Have you started yours? :-)
Today's post is my contribution to the blog hop Don't Get Your Tinsel in a Tangle
I hope you will enjoy your hopping!!

Vintage Bee

Ok, who loves this card!?  Me! Me! Me!  Isn't it adorable!?  The image is from a 1920 picture I found on Pinterest and matted it with black.  The card base and the crepe paper trim are from My Mind's Eye and the wood veneer butterflies are from Studio Calico.  I've already mailed my card, but I think I'll be making a few more of these  :-)
I have this cutie up on my Etsy shop here.  Thanks for stopping in :-)

Happy Halloween Yoga

Happy Halloween!  uggg November starts tomorrow!  I can't get over how quickly this year is going by.  Pretty soon it will be Christmas!  aye yi yai
I need to catch up on some of my blogging.  I've been busy getting ready for a Craft Fair. Once I can slow down., I'll have lots to share.
Today, I'm sharing with you a layout I created using the Close to my Heart Artbooking Cartridge.  What fun it was to be able to make a scene with Cricut Craft Room.
Besides all the crafting I have been working on, I have been, not just practicing yoga, but teaching it!  Well, to clarify.  I'm not really teaching, I am in front of a class and they are following along with what I am doing.  Which just happens to be yoga.  Wow What a change it has made to my physical self.  I can touch the floor flat handed!  Before yoga, I could reach my knees.  Huge huh!??  And the people that are 'following' me are all amazed at themselves as well.  Every week shows a little more strength or balance or flexibility.  Yoga is amazing!!
that's it for now...gotta get busy!
Thanks for stopping in.
