Keep Calm and Eat More Cupcakes

Hello again my friends.  Today I am sharing a card I made for the Terrific Trios challenge from  Diva Dare from Verve. The challenge was to use something on your project three times.  I think you can see what I used to enter the challenge, three cupcakes...yum!  This adorable stamp set is called Cupcakes.

As soon as I decided how I would do the challenge I knew which papers to use. 

I had purchased Olivia's Sweet Shop from The Paper Studio. Specifically the cupcake paper. Perfect, right?! I added some other papers from the collection and tied a piece of twine 3 times around the center images.

Indian Paper Stack

Hello my friends!  Today's post is a beautiful card using some mighty good looking Indian Handmade Paper. Isn't it gorgeous!  It came in a nice 5 x 7 pack with 72 beautiful papers. I was able to fit my card into a few challenges. 
 Fantabulous Cricut  the challenge was to use some sort of bug.  Well I looked through all my cartridges and the only 'bug' I could find were butterflies.  I suppose they are bugs, but that just doesn't seem right.

The next challenge is from Die Cuttin Divas.  There challenge was to use this sketch. My dimensions are a little off, but I wanted to be sure to show the gorgeous paper.

Next challenge from Simon Says Stamp and Show was to use texture on your project.  The gorgeous paper has texture but just to be sure, I ran my back layer through my Big Shot using my D'Vine embossing folder.

Crazy 4 Challenges was to use butterflies..yay!  easy! Then for good measure I also entered my card into a couple of blogs that are having an anything goes week.  The Secret Crafter, and Catch the Bug Blog

Baby Buggy Welcome

 Hello my friends, I hope your week has gone well. My highlight, this week, was a short visit with a very dear friend who I haven't seen in 3 months.  I don't know why we waited so long.  That's going to change!

 

Today's post is for a challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2 .  The challenge was to use the word Welcome from any Cricut cartridge.  Since none of my cartridges have the word, I used my Cricut Storybook cartridge and spelled out Welcome.  I then made some cute pennants to put the letters on. The adorable baby buggy is from the very versatile Cricut Wrap It Up cartridge.

All the papers I used are from an adorable paper pack called Sweet Pea from the Paper Studio. I edged a lot of the pieces using cream acrylic paint, added some faux stitching then popped everything up with my handy dandy pizza box cardboard.

Puppy Thanks

 I created today's card as a thank-you to Liyah's Doctor and her staff.  They have been incredibly sweet and I would highly recommend their office to anyone in the Clermont Florida area. If you are not up to date on what happened to our dog, click here for our dreadful Pet Smart experience.

 To create the puppy, I used my Gypsy and Expression along with the cart called Ultimate Creative Series Sampler.  This is a major cart since it comes with 6 overlays! I personalized the pup by adding the pink bandages.  cuteness.

Here's a happier looking Liyah now that they end is drawing near for to finally stop visiting the Vets every week for a new bandage.  She went today, and will have x-rays done next week to see how her toe is healing.  Please cross your fingers (and toes) that everything is healing correctly.

Bitten by the Bug 2 Challenge

 Hello all, happy weekend.  This card took some major planning.  My Cricut is in one room and my craft room is in another..so lots of walking back and forth.
The card is my entry into the challenge over on Bitten by the Bug. The challenge was to use any ice cream image from a Cricut cartridge.  I don't have many cartridges but am lucky enough to have the cartridge A Child's Year.

Vintage challenge

 

 Hello again. My goal for the day was to try to do a combination challenge. Yay I did it :-) I combined this week's Mojo Monday sketch with the Shabby Tea Room's theme of butterflies. and! Die Cut Dreams to use a die cut. But once I started doing all these challenges, I realized that I was looking at the wrong posts. d'uh The Die Cut Dreams challenge..I guess I was the one dreaming that one up.

I had to so some searching to find the right Shabby Tea Room challenge and thanks to my neighbor wanting a birthday card with a ballerina on it, I was able to accomplish a multi challenge card...yay!

Here's another vintage, different era. I love this one just as much as the first one, but this one didn't take up most of the day to create !

Webster's 3 generations

Can you believe tomorrow is Christmas!? Holy smokes has this year flown by. I can only hope that next year will be a bit slower and a lot more enjoyable! This past year has been tough on me. This getting older stuff is not fun!
But making this page was fun! I've had this picture of my Mom, me and my daughter for a few years and have always wanted to do something with it. This beautiful Webster's page was perfect for blending the flowers in the background with the flowers on the page. Oh, and this is all digital :-) I am entering it into the December Digital Challenge over on the Webster's Pages Inspire Me site. wish me luck x

A little over the top

I've entered into three challenges this week: Card Patterns, Sketch, Embellish Color Challenge Featuring Birds and Everything but the Kitchen Sink Challenge.

Here is my creation..

It's a bit over the top, but it sure was fun making it. I used my own judgment following the card sketch. It's close, right? The color challenge wasn't too hard since I started out with designer paper that had all the colors. Then the last challenge was to use buttons, which I have no trouble doing that.

I've been wanting to use these flowers. I got them at JoAnn's and are so similar to the beautiful flowers that Webster's pages sell. Probably much cheaper, too.

Here's the inside..such a nice sentiment.

Another Caardvarks

I decided I had time for one more Caardvarks monochromatic card challenge using Core'dinations Cardstock. Isn't it a beauty!?

The card base is Night of Navy from SU. The next layer is white glossy paper ran thru with the swiss dots folder from Cuttlebug, then Co-ordinations whitewash cardstock was ran thru with Cuttlebug's paisley folder. I distressed the edges, sanded some of the embossing and added ink in other spots. I then curled up the corners. The image is from MFT colored with a range of blue colored pencils and a blender pen. I created a hat pin, attached some lace and then the pretty petaloo flower.

Weekend Challenge #71

Here is my take on Weekend Challenge #71 hosted by Sharon.
I really wanted to make a card using the SU scallop circle punch with the center punched out and the ribbon tie in the middle. So that was my starting off point. From there, I turned the sketch to the side and then everything just flowed. I used Rose Red, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White card stock. The printed designer paper is from the Parisian Breeze Specialty series. It's printed on textured heavy weight card stock...Gorgeous!! The ribbons I used are from the Ribbon Originals... Gorgeous again! Stampin' Up! has come out with some really nice stuff!


I also used the scallop punch, the eyelet punch, pearls from the Pretties kit and my paper piercer. and ta da! A beautiful card.

Challenge #7 @ Paper Craft Planet

Ok, well I missed a few days of the Twelve Days of Christmas Challenge at Paper Craft Planet. They were finally getting tired of birds ( you know, a partridge, calling birds, french hens, turtle doves...) so they decided that Swans are elegant, right? Create a card (or any paper craft) that is all black and white - think of "high formal" weddings. Feel free to toss in a dash of color. Phew, I can do that! I decided to try out a black flower using the Fabulous Flower set. I must say, that flower looks gorgeous in any color!

Challenge #3 @ Paper Craft Planet

This was my entry for third Christmas challenge over on Paper Craft Planet. Of course if you're following along you know that we should be at Three French Hens. Because french hens are not a commonly used stamp, owls could be used. I used the Owl Together set from Stampin' Up. Then dressed the owls up with some soft flock.

2nd Day of Christmas Contest

Here it is -- the Second Day of Christmas Contest!. (hum the tune to 12 Days...) On the second day of Christmas my Planet gave to me.... a card with bird or reptile". Stop laughing -- it's "two turtle doves", so they picked turtles or doves... or heck... any reptile.
I've had this Martha Stewart bird punch for quite awhile and have never used it. Today's contest challenged me to give it a shot and I love how cute it came out! I've mixed some SU paper along with some Lasting Impressions paper, ribbon from Target's dollar bin, some rhinestones and an SU sentiment...sooo cute!

Challenge #12 Gift Card Holder

This week's challenge with the Late Night Stampers, is to create a gift card holder. They are very easy to make and so timely!


I used the Eastern Blooms stamp set and embossed the flowers with black powder and added some dots of white with a gel pen in their centers. I stamped the three flowers with versamark and embossed them as well with the black embossing powder. Then cut them out and popped them up on dimensionals. For the inside, I used the sentiment from Heritage Holiday set. I also used the scallop punch for the front edge. It's all tied together with black gingham ribbon.

Rub-on Challenge #11

I finally had an excuse to use my SU rub-ons that were just sitting around gathering dust. I don't understand why we hoard all these goodies that we just have to have and then never use. My early New Year's resolution is to stop hoarding all my goodies .
This card is the result of the Late Night Stampers challenge #11 ~ to use your rub-ons. The base of the card is Riding Hood Red, then some Bella Designer Paper topped with Sahara Sand. The rub-ons are from the Hidden Garden set.


The three dots on the bottom are created by punching out three circles of DP using my crop-a-dile and putting a glob of Crystal Effects on it. Ya, I said a glob. Isn't it cool looking?

Take out the garbage and the trash

This weeks challenge over at Late Nite Stampers was to take some trash and turn it into something usable. Good timing since I had just finished up some Crystal Lite.

I used some Bella Rose designer paper to cover the container. Then added some Bashful Blue 1" double stitched grosgrain ribbon to go around the top.

The flowers were made with 1 1/4" Pink Pirouette Grosgrain and more of the 1" Bashful Blue ribbon. The centers are made from rub-ons from the Hidden Garden rub-ons and some pretty rhinestone brads.

Boxes are addicting!!

I love making these little boxes. They are terribly addicting! And so aren't the little note cards that go inside.
This first box combines two challenges from Late Night Stampers. The first challenge was to use Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive along with some metal. The second challenge was to simply make a box. Well once I got started, it's very hard to stop.
I made both boxes using Sahara Sand card stock. The sides of the top of the box was wheeled with the Forever Flowers wheel. I used Versamark then Silver embossing powder. Wow is that pretty! But I took it one step further and colored in the flowers using most of the Earth Elements markers. On the top of the cover, I layered Old Olive, Sahara Sand, and Pumpkin Pie card stock. I used four brads from our Hodgepodge kit on the corners,. the top medallion is made from the wreath in the Together Forever set centered over part of the wheel design. Old Olive ribbon holds it all together.


Of course I needed to put something into the box. These note cards are so simple and so much fun to make. I used Pumpkin Pie, Sahara Sand and Old Olive to make the cards Then the Forever Flowers wheel and colored it all in. This will make a nice Fall gift for my Mom.


The next box came out beautiful too! This one uses the Flores Suaves set and the Forever Flowers wheel. This box is made with Cameo Coral and Sahara Sand, very elegant. Again, I used the silver embossing.


Here's a close up of the butterfly. His main body is glitterized but it doesn't show well in the picture.


The note cards are stamped on Whisper White card stock and the envelopes are made using Vellum. Isn't this a beautiful set?!
