It's beginning to look a little spooky

Happy September...eeek that means it's getting close to some holidays, starting with Halloween.  It's so fun to use colors that you wouldn't normally put together.  Bright orange and purple, wowsers!
The base of the card is Perfect Plum by Stampin' Up! I stamped with Dream Text by Stampendous.  Then a layer of black distressed a bit and scalloped on one side.  The next layer, the bright orange, was toned down by using a stamp by Delta called Crackle Background.  I also used the Dream Text on the flower made with the Tattered Flowers die from Tim Holtz.  Finally the gorgeous image from McMahon Digital Designs was colored with watercolor pencils.  You can find the stamp here.

Thanks for stopping in today!

HI

Good morning!  Happy September, can you believe it!  Where in the world has this year gone!!?  Life is passing by so quickly, I must remember to slow down and maybe just watch the clouds go by once in awhile.
Today's card is a little different than my usual and I love it!  I started out with Spellbinders Beaded Circles die cut twice to create the card base.  I inked it up with some SU ink in blue.  I cut a double circle out of the polka-dot paper (Flocked Dot Rouge Paperie by MakingMemories) to make a frame around the white card stock that had been run through the Big Shot with Swiss Dots from Cuttlebug.  I added some red pom pom trim and inked up the HI using the same blue SU ink.  I then used Martha's butterfly punch and punched out the three yellow butterflies.  I applied glossy accents to both sides which made them very sturdy and very pliable. I punched out three circles from the polka-dot paper and ta-da ~ A cute card! :-)

McMahon Digital Release

Today's card uses the butterfly image from the digital set called Sophisticated Phrases from
I first changed the colors of the butterflies using Photoshop then printed them on plain old printer paper. I then coated all the butterflies with glossy accents and when that dried, I cut them out and covered the back with the glossy accents. This left me with some very sturdy but pliable little guys.

Here's a look at the complete set of Sophisticated Phrases. Click on the picture below for a quick link to the stamp set.
